Just wondering if anyone out there has actually maxed out their G with or without the speed limiter and if so what that speed was.

Far be it from me to nitpick...but I think the current sedan's limiter are set at 158 mph., although I haven't had the opportunity to verify that for myself yet.
Incidentally, I wouln't trust a stock speedo for accuracy at anything near those speeds...indicated speed vs. actual can be pretty huge.

hahaha! i did see that. i totally forgot to mention it. so here goes.
WTF! where the hell did that come from?! one minute i'm watching a 5AT max out at 145mph, the next i see a guy with stuffed animals taped to his ear, speaking in a language i have never heard of.
i wonder what the cop would have thought if he had pulled that guy over looking like that. was he drunk!?

It's possible that this whole video is bogus anyway. If you notice, it could have easily been filmed on a dyno/treadmill.

nah when he turns the camera around at the end you can see that he's traveling on the road. It's still an auto though and he still looks weird as hell. I don't trust him..

I've got my 04 sedan up to 145. i started to run out of road so i couldnt go anymore.

Hey VegasmstrJ > I have had mine up to 125 or so but I was really wondering what the car would do if there was no electronic control. As the replies above mentioned it is electronically limited to 155 - I was just wondering if it in fact go much faster than that - seems hard to imagine that it would be capable of more than 155 anyway.

I would highly doubt there's but a few more to go there...the aero effects are just huge at and beyond those speeds. I think you'd have to do a lot of homework to ensure stability at much more tham that too.

150 playa on the new toll road system in austin, tx. i doubt i'll ever do it again.

yea... i never pushed it beyond 145.. but i know it goes very easily to 145 ive hit it like 3 times but everytime i get to 145 magic happens and cars start getting really close to me...
VDC off makes a big difference in speed, at least it feels like that...
does anyone know a good aftermarket speedometer for the 08's?

My speedo does not agree with my portable GPS unit. The faster I go the bigger the difference. At 100 mph on the car speedo, the GPS is telling me I am going about 95-96 mph.

I don't know how accurate your gps unit is, but it is very typical for speedos to be inaccurate by 5-10% as speed increases. Typically, this is insignificant at normal speeds, but there was a recent, successful lawsuit against Honda/Acura for inaccuracies significant enough to prematurely expire the mileage warranty on their cars.
